Mark Reed likely to be appointed as new WA Labor secretary

From The West Australian, written by Jessica Page

A former McGowan Government strategist turned lobbyist, who was mentioned in a bombshell report into WA Labor electorate offices, has been tapped on the shoulder to run the party’s head office.

Mark Reed resigned from the Department of Premier and Cabinet in September 2022 to join Labor-aligned lobbying firm Anacta.

Sources have told The West Australian he is likely to be the only nominee to replace current State Secretary Ellie Whitaker, who is top of Labor’s Senate ticket for the next federal election.
